Seven essential key Points when creating an Holistic Wellness.

Since the boom of the wellness spas began some decades ago ( filling somehow the vacuum left by the historic thermals ) many Hotels and Resorts have incorporated wellness-spa facilities and services, offering them to their customers or to the public. However, the results are not always as planned and many wellness and spa languish in hotels for lack of clients.


Paradoxically, health tourism is growing fast in very significant percentages in international tourism, with a key strategic presence in destinations that have made it a successful offer. Health tourism however has a surname: Holistic.


Holistic is a concept that means ‘a whole’ in its entirety. In addition you could add ‘natural’, integrative and natural health concept. The client who demands this type of services – holistic health services – has a medium social standing, high average, refined tastes and appreciates the quality – before the quantity.

Nowadays, knowing how to develop genuine holistic wellness is key to success and fundamental care. Precisely because of its authenticity, it is not something that can be improvised, quite the contrary.

I have developed here 7 essential points when it comes to creating an Eco-Wellness Holistic concept :

  1. A vision of the entire Project, integrating wisely all the elements that will make up the Wellness Spa.

  2. Highly qualified Holistic professionals qualified in different holistic therapies.

  3. Organic design throughout the Wellness – Spa with Feng-shui techniques.

  4. Analysis and previous study of water, using water to its best advantages for health processes.

  5. Use of natural and sustainable materials and products.

  6. Packages of natural health treatments, wisely combined .

  7. Environment: smell, music, color that invites relaxation.

And finally, I make a very important point: Courses and Workshops should be available to help to understand a more relaxed, healthy and fullfit lifestyle leading to customer loyalty.
